Well dressing

Every year our home town – a spa town – decorates the natural spring wells in a kind of thanksgiving for the beautiful water they provide.  It’s a lovely tradition, made lovelier this year by a theme of ‘friendship’.

Here at Holy Well, you could write notes of hope and friendship to hang on this tree.

I loved the use of seasonal flowers – the hillside will soon be a blanket of purple as the bluebells blossom fully.  Capturing the blue and white really added an extra essence of the hills and the way in which nature interacts.

Built into the hillside is this, my favourite well.  It has a really calming vibe.  And there was another chance to share friendship notes…

At the final well we visited, there were beautiful balls of flowers hanging from the nearby trees.  So gorgeous!

Such a beautiful way to spend a couple of hours.

This is so beautiful, I’ve been to some well dressings in the Peak District, such a lovely tradition. These are the prettiest I’ve seen though!
